Tell us a bit about your experience before the Digital Marketing Institute
Before studying at the Digital Marketing Institute, I completed a Master Of Business at University of Western Sydney, Australia. I have held many positions over the past 27 years in my career across multiple fields. My passion has always been in the dynamic world of marketing. My experience in marketing stretches from email marketing, websites, social media, print media, radio and face to face.
What influenced your decision to study digital?
Having decided in January 2015 to take the leap and start my own business, Twelfy to achieve work-life harmony, I quickly realized how the digital space had rapidly changed in the last few years. My new business was built around the new digital world so there was much for me to learn.
Why did you choose to study with the Digital Marketing Institute?
The course interested me and after researching LOTS of other digital marketing courses, the Digital Marketing Institute was an obvious choice for me to make. The variety of modules offered and covering all digital channels was exactly what I was looking for. The flexibility of being able to learn when it suited me was appealing, given I was juggling multiple roles. The way the content was delivered made it fun and interesting – not like the usual boring online courses.
Since completing the course in the Digital Marketing Institute, how has your Career progressed?
Shortly after completing the course my first business Twelfy was in early development stage so I started my second business in August 2015 Cider Consulting to bring in much needed money to fund Twelfy. Is there any advice you would give to new or future students at the Digital Marketing Institute?
Never be afraid to ask questions and always be open to learning new things. The digital space moves rapidly and is constantly evolving, in any industry its critical to stay on top on new technology. Find yourself a good mentor and a meet up group where you can share and build your knowledge.
