The Challenge
Uni4 started out as an Online Program Management (OPM) to take traditionally face-to-face and correspondence institutions in South Africa into a fully online offering. A few of the challenges included creating engaging online content from the existing offering, having enticing, recognised fully online material available, converting students to trust an online offering, upskilling faculty to be comfortable offering programmes online.
The Solution
DMI assisted by having vetted, existing material that was offered face-to-face and online allowing students and faculty to see that they can get the experience, skills and knowledge from an online offering. DMI provided Uni4 with material that was ready for market immediately. As well as offering the material, DMI assisted with the go-to-market strategy and gave tips on how to position the DMI programmes online which has flowed over into our other offerings.
Why Result
The DMI was a huge success with a corporate client we were trying to land. They wanted to have an internationally recognised course in marketing so the partnership with DMI allowed us to provide the client with exactly what they needed. We offer 6 courses across the Expert, Professional and Specialist offerings and then the 12 Tracks (DMI Short Courses). Over the partnership (since 2020) we have enrolled 403 students of which 81 have been certified. Moving into the future we would like to leverage the just-in-time upskilling that the Tracks offer to students and connect with the alumni more to build greater future engagement.

The DMI offering enabled us to meet a corporate client's needs at the same time. The support offered by the DMI was also a deciding factor. The student support, tools available and the reporting allowed us to confidently serve and support students.
How has the DMI helped you transform your business?
DMI has allowed us to focus on other cognate areas in terms of developing our course offering as digital marketing was covered. This has given us the opportunity to develop and offer a well rounded product line to serve a multitude of needs.
Has the DMI certification transformed your students' opportunities?
Students who are certified are more confident in their skills and comfortably put these on their profiles and CVs. I feel this enables them to apply for different positions and showcase their knowledge better and more confidently.
