The Challenge

A leading healthcare company specializing in the provision of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies partnered with the Digital Marketing Institute to offer a new digital support initiative to its staff.

With a mission to create connections and help patients live higher-quality lives no matter what their health challenges. They provide continuous empowerment, support and care by creating connections along the entire value chain, developing new treatments and new e-health technologies.

As a progressively thinking organization and with digital a key pillar of their long term business strategy, they wanted to establish a Digital Learning Academy to support their teams not just for today, but for the future.

Goals included mapping their required training roadmap to DMI content, utilizing the DMI’s Digital Diagnostic to identify training requirements and outlining clear step-by-step pathways for each learner level. This critical to support their overall digital strategy and nurturing of in-house expertise.

A globally recognized Certification provided a framework for professional advancement, whilst DMI’s reporting capabilities and LMS support were also key.

The Solution

The organization partnered with the Digital Marketing Institute to offer its Sales, Marketing, IT, Management, e-Business & Innovation teams a progressive digital upskilling option. Given the teams were spread across multiple locations, online and OnDemand access was critical to its transformation strategy.

After partnering with the DMI, the first step was to map their existing required training roadmap to DMI Foundation (Essentials) and DMI PRO (Professional Digital Marketing) content, plus selected Short Courses for additional Expert Level skill development.

Following this, the organization used the DMI’s Digital Diagnostic test to understand existing skill levels and their distribution through the organization. This process informs the training requirement and recommends training path for each learner, whilst also championing top individuals for inclusion in ‘Action Level’ workshops. The analysis was delivered to management in individual and group reports, benchmarked against the industry standard.

With a renewed confidence in their investment and the appropriate individual skill levels identified, participants were enrolled in DMI programs on the healthcare companies own learning management system (LMS). A solution enabled by DMI’s content library and SCORM package delivery option.

The Result

A Digital Learning Academy was established and quickly created a network of experts and future leaders within the organization.

They succeeded in providing their teams with onDemand and progressive upskilling options. Advanced training was provided through a series of SME delivered online workshops, whilst the Diagnostic analysis has been considered alongside long term learning and development planning.

The project raised digital awareness and practical aptitude across multiple stakeholders within the organization. In turn, enabling continued forward-thinking and a digital-first mindset within the business.

What’s more, the organization succeeded in establishing a career advancement and continuous learning culture within the organization. Not only did participants engage in training, but many transition onto the next level of learning after graduating from DMI Essentials to DMI Pro for more advanced knowledge.
