Tesla: Powering Up the World

Our interaction with the natural world, and the future that relationship will create, is one of the most important topics in the media today.

September saw schoolgirl/climate activist Greta Thunberg’s speech at the UN Climate Action Summit, the devastating Amazon wildfires, and low-carbon renewable energy solutions becoming more and more part of policy around the world.

Within the renewable energy movement, Elon Musk and his company, Tesla, are seen by many to be leading the way to a more sustainable, and high-tech future.

… Or, so we hope.

Tesla Inc., (named after the early-20th-century electricity pioneer and inventor Nikola Tesla), is an American automotive and energy company that has seen growing success of its luxury vehicles in the electric car market over the last decade.

But Tesla has another mission: to create a fully-functioning energy ecosystem comprised of energy solutions that enable businesses and homeowners to manage renewable energy production, consumption, and storage.

With Tesla Motors recently launching its most affordable electric car yet (and as prices continue to become more competitive), Tesla is consistently working toward creating a world built on affordable and accessible clean energy production where transportation and energy usage work together.

As admirable and exciting as this dream is, it also comes with its barriers – some of which only someone as business savvy as Elon Musk can tackle.
