Digital Marketing - Study Notes:

Instagram and Facebook Video

Instagram and Facebook Video are highly effective tools for your social media marketing campaigns. Video allows you to build trust with your audience and brings your brand story to life in a way that static images cannot. Video is effective for promoting a product, as it offers the chance to go into much more detail, and feature demonstrations of your product in action.

What’s more, video is an opportunity to create a deeper relationship with your audience. You can introduce the faces behind the brand, which further adds personality and builds trust. Consider, for example, the effect of a video conversation with the founder of your brand, or a behind-the-scenes look at your team leaders at work.

Optimizing your video content

For video campaigns to be effective, it’s important that you optimize your video content. To begin, tailor your story to your audience. When you know your audience’s preferences, you can create content that is more likely to resonate and gain all-important reach. You can also use video to create excitement and buzz around your brand by showcasing exclusive behind-the-scenes aspects of your business.

High-quality video will hold the audience’s attention, so ensure you are creating and polishing your content as much as your time and budget allows. Consider frontloading the video and showing brand or product imagery in the first few seconds. This gets your brand in front of the audience even when they don’t watch the full video.

Use a compelling thumbnail cover image and integrate subtitles to make sure your videos entice viewers, even when muted. Finally, consider your audiences’ viewing device and ensure you are using correct video dimensions to ensure the best viewing experience.
