Digital Marketing - Study Notes:
Using bulk sheets
It's possible to create and modify campaigns within tools such as Google Ads and Meta Business Suite. However, it can be slow and frustrating to do this, especially when you have a lot of new keywords to add or updates to make.
To speed up the process, many platforms such as Google Ads, Google Ads Editor, and Meta – as well as CRMs such as HubSpot – allow you to add new campaign data or modify existing data via a CSV upload. These CSV uploads are sometimes referred to as bulk sheet uploads.
Generally, it's much quicker to use bulk sheets to add or change hundreds or thousands of ad groups, keywords, ads, CRM records, and other campaign elements than if you were making these adjustments manually.
Each platform has its own CSV upload template, so it's important to use the right template for each platform. In some cases, IDs are associated with elements in the bulk sheet, so make sure you check if this is the case with the platform you’re updating.
As a digital marketing specialist, you should aim to use bulk uploads whenever possible instead of undertaking time-consuming manual updates. This activity can level-up your skills, make you more efficient, and speed up your actions.
Using ASAP Utilities
A very popular Excel plugin for digital marketing is called ASAP Utilities. It's only available for the Windows version of Excel. So, it will only work on an Apple Mac if it has Windows installed on it.
ASAP Utilities provides you with a range of supplementary macro tools that can save you lots of time and make your work in Excel easier and faster. As digital marketers, we need to regularly update our reports and carry out bulk sheet uploads to platforms such as Google Ads, Meta, and so on. ASAP Utilities can speed up these processes.
It can also increase your effectiveness as a digital marketer by identifying and limiting any errors in your reports and bulk sheet uploads. In this way, it helps ensure the quality of your uploads and campaigns.
