[[p]][[strong]]@[[/strong]][[/p]]

[[p]]The @ sign is used to call out usernames in posts. People will use your @username to mention you in posts, send you a message or link to your profile.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]block[[/strong]][[/p]]

[[p]]If you block an X account, that account will be unable to follow you or add you to their X lists, and you will not receive a notification if they mention you in a post.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]bio[[/strong]][[/p]]

[[p]]Your bio is a short (up to 160 characters) personal description that appears in your profile that serves to characterize your persona on X.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]blue checkmark[[/strong]] - Only accounts actively subscribed to X Premium are eligible to receive the blue checkmark. X uses eligibility criteria on when the checkmark is given to ensure your account meets certain criteria to receive or retain the blue checkmark.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]bookmarks[[/strong]][[/p]]

[[p]]A feature that allows you to save Tweets in a timeline for easy, quick access at any time.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]direct messages[[/strong]] &ndash; Direct messages (DMs) are private messages sent from one X account to another X account or X accounts who follow you. You can use DMs for one-on-one private conversations, or between groups. &nbsp;Direct messages can be sent to accounts that are not followed if they have opted to receive direct messages from anyone, they are verified and opted in to receiving direct messages from other verified users or they have previously sent a person a direct message.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]deactivation[[/strong]] &ndash; If you deactivate your account, it goes into a queue for permanent deletion from X in 30 days. You may reactivate your account within the 30-day grace period.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]Display[[/strong]] &ndash; On X for web, use the Display option from your menu to customize your view by font size, color, and background.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]Explore tab[[/strong]] &ndash; The Explore tab on X is where you can find what&rsquo;s trending, live events, your topics, and more.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]follow(s)[[/strong]] &ndash; A follow is the result of someone following your X account. You can see how many follows (or followers) you have from your X profile.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]follow count[[/strong]] &ndash; This count reflects how many people you follow and how many follow you; these numbers are found on your X profile.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]hacking[[/strong]] &ndash; This involves gaining unauthorized access to an account via phishing, password guessing, or session stealing.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]geolocation, geotagging &ndash; [[/strong]]This refers to adding a location to your post. A geolocation or geotag tells those who see your post where you were when you posted it.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]hashtag &ndash; [[/strong]]A hashtag is any word or phrase immediately preceded by the # symbol. When you click or tap on a hashtag, you&rsquo;ll see other posts containing the same keyword or topic.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]hidden reply &ndash; [[/strong]]Post authors can choose to place any reply to their post behind an icon. A hidden reply is still accessible for anyone to view. However, it won&rsquo;t be directly viewable within the main post conversation.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]mention &ndash; [[/strong]]Mentioning other accounts in your post by including the @ sign followed directly by their username is called a &ldquo;mention&rdquo;.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]Mute &ndash;[[/strong]] You can mute accounts. You can also mute words, phrases, usernames, and hashtags from your notifications. And you can mute DM notifications.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]Notifications [[/strong]]&ndash; The Notifications timeline displays your interactions with other X accounts, such as mentions, likes, posts, and who has recently followed you. If you request it, X sends notifications to you via email, SMS, or through the Twitter for iOS or Twitter for Android apps.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]pinned posts[[/strong]] &ndash; You can pin one of your posts to the top of your profile page to keep it above the flow of time-ordered Tweets.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]profile photo &ndash;[[/strong]] The profile photo is the personal image (avatar) associated with your account. It&rsquo;s also the &nbsp;&nbsp;that appears next to each of your posts.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]profile[[/strong]] &ndash; Your profile displays information you choose to share publicly, as well as all of the posts you&rsquo;ve shared. Your profile along with your @username identify you on X.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]Promoted Accounts[[/strong]] &ndash; Promoted Accounts present suggested accounts you might want to follow as promoted by X advertisers.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]Promoted posts &ndash; [[/strong]]Promoted posts are paid for by X advertisers. These appear in your Home timeline, at the top of search results on X and elsewhere on the platform, and are clearly marked as "Promoted".[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]quote &ndash; [[/strong]]You can add your own comments, photos, or a GIF before reposting someone&rsquo;s post to your followers.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]reply &ndash; [[/strong]]This is a response to another person&rsquo;s post. Reply by clicking or tapping the reply icon next to the post you&rsquo;d like to respond to.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]repost (n.) &ndash; [[/strong]]This is a post that you forward to your followers. Reposts are often used to pass along news or other valuable discoveries on X. Reposts always retain original attribution.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]repost (v.) &ndash; [[/strong]]This is the act of sharing another account&rsquo;s post to all of your followers by clicking or tapping on the repost button.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]timeline &ndash; [[/strong]]A timeline is a real-time stream of posts. Your Home timeline, for instance, is where you see all the posts shared by your friends and other people you follow.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]timestamp [[/strong]]&ndash; This is the date and time a post was published to X. A post&rsquo;s timestamp can be found in grey text in the detail view of any post.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]top post &ndash; [[/strong]]This is a post that is determined by an X algorithm to be the most popular or resonant on X at any given time.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]topics &ndash; [[/strong]]Topics are a way to see more of your interests on X without having to follow individual accounts. With Topics X personalizes your experience with relevant posts, events, and ads.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]trending topic &ndash; [[/strong]]A trending topic is a topic or hashtag determined algorithmically to be one of the most popular on X at that moment. You can choose to tailor trending topics based on your location and who you follow.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]unfollow (v.)[[/strong]] &ndash; You can choose to stop following any of your followers at any time.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]username[[/strong]] &shy;&ndash; A username (or handle) is how you&rsquo;re identified on X, and is always preceded immediately by the @ symbol.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]who to follow[[/strong]] - Who to follow is an automated list of recommended accounts X thinks you might find interesting, based on the types of accounts you already follow and who those people follow.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]X button &ndash; [[/strong]]Anyone can add an X button to their website. Clicking this button lets people on X publish a post with a link to that site.[[/p]]

[[p]][[strong]]X polls[[/strong]] &ndash; X polls allow you to weigh in on questions posed by other people on X. You can also easily create your own poll and see the results instantly.[[/p]]
