The Media Mix

It’s important for marketers to recognize the distinction between marketing, communication, and advertising. 

While marketing focuses on messages that achieve certain marketing goals, communication uses messages that have greater scope and advertising focuses on promoting a product or service to potential customers.  

A media mix is using a blend of channels to communicate a brand's message to customers or prospects. The channels and tactics in a media mix can be above the line or below the line.
