Accessibility means giving people a choice. Digital accessibility is the principle and practice of ensuring anyone can access your online content, such as those with sight and hearing difficulties as well as people with learning disabilities and neurodivergence.

Accessibility isn’t just about compliance – it’s a driver of business growth. With the collective spending power of £274 billion per year in the UK alone, adhering to accessibility principles will help you reach a large untapped and underserved market of people with access needs. By prioritizing accessibility, you’ll also provide a greater user experience (UX) for everyone online.

By acting now, you position your business ahead of competitors and become the example others follow.

2 IN-DEPTH SESSIONS
This two-part masterclass will be presented by two experts in the field.

Each session lasts 90 minutes.

Session 1 - What Do You Need to Know About Accessibility?

Cormac Chisholm will present the landscape of UX and Accessibility, looking at existing and new regulations such as WCAG, and the European Accessibility Act (EEA). Cormac’s aim is to help marketers and others interested make sense of these regulations to start moving towards achievable goals you can put into action.

Session 2 - How Can You Apply Accessibility to Your Online Content?

Once you’ve understood the landscape and the needs for accessibility, Helen Dutson will take you through how to design and consider content for your websites, social media and other online communications. She’ll look at how you can ensure your text, video and imagery meet accessibility principles.
From alt tags to fonts, video captions to background colours, Helen will walk through the key elements to build into your content implementation. She’ll end the session with tips on how to convince your boss to prioritize accessibility.
