Over 3,000 people have been hired by the top 15 eCommerce companies in Ireland over the past 12 months, the Annual Prosperity Digital Employment & Salary Survey has revealed. Exposing interesting recruitment trends surrounding experience levels, it has also estimated the average salaries for various Digital Marketing positions.
Foreign multinationals are twice as likely to hire candidates with just 1-2 years’ experience for general roles when compared to their Irish counterparts, according to the report. Irish companies were more inclined to hire those with five or more years’ experience.
This divergence was even more apparent for Marketing roles specifically, where 19% of hires by foreign multinationals consisted of candidates with two years’ experience or less, compared to 8% in Irish companies. Indigenous multinationals favoured those with six or more years’ experience – accounting for 58% of their hires.
The report also surveyed 20 advertising agencies, with the key finding being that “all of their impetus over the last year has been scaling up their digital teams and services.”
Between them, the agencies hired 160 people over the past year, with the greatest demand being for Web Usability experts, Analytics specialists and Digital Account Managers. Analytics and measurement were identified as the as the Digital areas with greatest job growth.
