I realised that I could boost my company's image while fulfilling my own personal goal of becoming a digital marketer.

Tell us a bit about your experience before the Digital Marketing Institute

Before I moved into digital marketing I was exploring ways to improve my career prospects in sports administration. I was interested in pursuing a Degree in Sports Science but found that I would not have time to study and work fulltime. I was actively involved in sport in my country and enjoyed the tennis events my team and I organised. But during off-season, there wasn't much to keep me occupied and challenged; it was during one of these seasonal lulls that I discovered the Digital Marketing Institute.

What influenced your decision to study in the digital field?

I was always interested in marketing, at college it was my favourite subject. When I started to research digital marketing, it revitalised my enthusiasm for the field. I realised that I could boost my company's image while fulfilling my own personal goal of becoming a digital marketer. It was a win-win as far as I could see.

Why did you choose to study the Professional Diploma with the Digital Marketing Institute?

I chose the Digital Marketing Institute because it was the only certification which genuinely interested me and suited my situation. Having completed my digital diagnostic, I was eager to learn more about the Digital Marketing Institute and how I could expand my digital skillset.

Since completing the course in the Digital Marketing Institute, how has your Career progressed?

During my Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing, I realized that my career was moving onto new and exciting things. Once I completed my course, I had a clear understanding of the digital marketing industry. My new certification and digital expertise allowed me to move into private consultancy for a number of regional firms while still retaining my role with the St. Lucia Tennis Association.

Is there any advice you would give to new students at the Digital Marketing Institute?

Try the digital diagnostic from the Digital Marketing Institute to test your digital skills. This will allow you to see how you measure up against your professional competition, where you can improve your skills and where your strengths lie. Next, I would advise you to consume the ample resources available to you on the course; take time to digest the information and tailor it to your professional role.

In one word, how would you describe your time in the Digital Marketing Institute?

Enlightening!
