I decided it was time to take my digital knowledge to the next level and applied for the Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing...

Tell us a bit about your experience before the Digital Marketing Institute

I qualified with a Diploma in Public Relations and Marketing Communications Management at the London College of International Business Studies in 1999 - so I can proudly claim that I have been marketer since the last century! I was the Head of Marketing at A-One TV (now A ONE Hip Hop Music Channel) music television in Russia when Google, YouTube, Facebook and other tech giants emerged. We were one of the first Russian media organizations to integrate online and traditional media. It was a pioneering and challenging task as viewers were not ready to see televised user generated content

What influenced your decision to study digital?

Despite my experience in emerging digital technologies, I felt that I still had more to learn. Continuous professional development is crucial if you want to succeed in this industry. With this in mind, I decided it was time to take my digital knowledge to the next level and applied for the Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing.

Why did you choose to study the Professional Diploma with the Digital Marketing Institute?

The Digital Marketing Institute is an industry recognized institution that I knew I could trust. It offered me the chance to gain in-depth knowledge in digital and a fast-track course, allowing me to quickly certify my skills without the constraints of a traditional classroom led programme.

Since completing the course in the Digital Marketing Institute, how has your Career progressed?

The Digital Marketing Institute opened new doors to me. I grew up in Georgia, and lived most of my life abroad for work. It had never occurred to me that I could run a business in my homeland. Georgia is now a rapidly developing country with plenty of opportunities for new markets. I'm currently setting up my own digital marketing agency in Georgia that will focus on growing our tourism sector using the techniques I learned on my Professional Diploma.

Is there any advice you would give to new students at the Digital Marketing Institute?

I would definitely advise you to start studying as soon as you have signed up for your course. A regular, well-structured study schedule will help you to achieve your goals. In addition to this, I found the class network to be very helpful. My advice would be to make most of it: don't be afraid to start discussions and ask questions. The e-learning manager is very attentive and quick to respond, so don't be shy about asking for help.

In one word, how would you describe your time in the Digital Marketing Institute?

Fascinating.
