What Will Yahoo Look Like in September?

Yahoo! is changing its logo. Each day between now and September 4th, Yahoo will be showcasing 30 different logos that will depict its “renaissance” under the new leadership and guidance of Marissa Mayer.  Interestingly, the logo is being showcased on recently-purchased Tumblr.

International expansion continues with major new Malaysia Deal

News Release: Digital Marketing Institute plans to deliver certification programme through four universities in Malaysia and expects to educate 2,000 students in 2013.  Irish digital marketing training provider, the Digital Marketing Institute (DMI), has signed a major new partnership deal with Specialist Knowledge Centre of Malaysia to deliver DMI digital education and professional certification programmes in Malaysia and across the entire ASEAN region. This brings to three the number of strategic alliances the company has agreed following two other deals in South Africa and India announced last month.

Why do 4500 Jobs Remain Unfilled?

The Joint Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation recently published a report telling us that there are currently 4,500 unfilled jobs in the IT sector in Ireland (digital is usually lumped in with "IT"). Why is this the case? Why is it that, during one of the worst recessions to hit this country, we still cannot fill these roles when so many skilled people remain unemployed?  While there is no simple answer, one of the major issues that underlies this problem is that the education system is failing us all.  The educational goals that schools and colleges are clinging to are woefully out of date.
